How can I make oil paints dry quickly?
What I have done is I’ve mimicked Vincent Van Gogh’s ”Stary Night” onto my sketch book cover using oil paints. I have used the paints thickly, using a spatula. My sketch book cover I painted onto is made of a leather-like shiny fabric. Will this delay drying time?
Also, my room is very large but due to its size, very cold. Temperatures are normally from 14 degrees c to 18. Would it be a good idea to bring an electric heater into my room? What is the best temperature for oils to dry at?

Sorry, but there’s not too much you can do to expedite the process. Oil paints dry as a result of oxidation, not as a reaction to heat. Typically if you want quicker drying times, you use a specific medium made for that purpose. While I don’t think the texture of the sketchbook’s cover will have much of an effect on drying time, the fact that you applied it thickly means it could take quite some time for it to dry.
I don’t really know what to tell you–I’ve heard of people supposedly speeding up drying by putting paintings underneath 75 watt light bulbs, but I’m skeptical. Best advice I can give is to either use a different sketchbook for a while or scrape of the paint and give the cover a good wipedown.
